I encourage you to read Dr. Russell Moore’s blog post today HERE.
Whatever you may believe about political ideologies, King’s speech was history-making and even necessary. Don’t put him in the same category as a Malcolm X. To understand something of our more recent national history, including it’s varied actions of racism (with religious undertones), it’s important to hear and see this speech.
I’m not saying it has the Gospel in it, but there is a common grace we should hope for in the demise of racism. By God’s grace, even UBC will become more and more “colorful” in years to come as diversity paints the backdrop of what unifies us…the Gospel of Jesus Christ for all to see!
