What a weighty message yesterday!  And I was the guy preaching it!!!

I had lunch today with a friend and he suggested this video to me in light of the message yesterday.  After watching it, it is worth sharing with you, particularly you men.  Our besetting sins can be thrown off!  But they cannot be thrown off by mere earthly strategies.  Jesus must become more beautiful to us than our sin!  

That is particularly difficult when it comes to sexual sin because of the enticement and enjoyment (physically, emotionally, mentally).  Yet God has made this beautiful expression of marital love for married men and women.  That which seems so pleasurable pales in comparison to the pleasure of pleasing Christ!

Many of you are frankly failing at lust in various forms.  I am no stranger to this battle (including all its defeats and failures).  This video speaks relatively bluntly, so I would caution against your youngest children listening.  However, it is appropriate, encouraging and challenging.  

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2
