First of all, I've had no emails or phone calls. This blog is prompted by some reflection and evaluation of yesterday, as well as a brief discussion following the service. Near the beginning of the message I said something like, "If you do not hold to eternal security then I would say you do not … Continue reading Clarification from Sunday’s Message

Spurgeon and the “Down Grade” Controversy
As referenced in today's message, HERE is a fine article explaining the "Down Grade" Controversy during Spurgeon's day, which eventually led to his death in 1892. I believe it's important to note such doctrinal tendencies to guard against secularism in our churches, all in the name of peace.
Sin has fallen on Hard Times
We make a regular practice in our Worship services to acknowledge our sin both through prayers of corporate and individual confession and allowing scripture to speak to sin as it is, a repulsive offense to a Holy God that demands expiation (atonement through blood). The atonement, as we looked at this past week in John … Continue reading Sin has fallen on Hard Times
All Church Worship this Wednesday
On the last Wednesday of every other month, we have a special all-church, whole-family worship experience from 6:00-7:00 PM. The Room by Josh Harris
Josh Harris is now Senior Pastor of Covenant Life Church, formerly pastored by C.J. Mahaney. This video is several years old, but very powerful. Watch it all the way through and overlook the video being out of sync with the audio at times.
A Mighty Fortress
A Mighty Fortress was written by the great Reformer, Martin Luther. This song became the rally cry for those who would carry on the Reformation and to encourage those who were facing persecution by the Catholic church. 20 years ago I heard Steve Green sing this song a cappella and, if you can get over … Continue reading A Mighty Fortress
Exciting Time for our Church…
These are really exciting times for me in the life of our church. First of all, we are celebrating Easter in the coming week, which is the most powerful event in human history...enough to divide time (BC / AD). As well, we met as Deacons last night to give family groups to each deacon to … Continue reading Exciting Time for our Church…
