You may want to begin by reading the FoxNews report HERE. I would encourage you to particularly consider Pullman’s comments below regarding this series of books (leading to the movie) and their hopeful counter-effect to The Chronicles of Narnia:
“I loathe the ‘Narnia’ books,” Pullman has said in previous press interviews. “I hate them with a deep and bitter passion, with their view of childhood as a golden age from which sexuality and adulthood are a falling away.” He has called the series “one of the most ugly and poisonous things” he’s ever read.
Certainly, Chronicles is no theological treatise, but it is sound in its adaptation of Christian virtue into fantasy. Just guard yourselves in every regard, especially related to entertainment. The truth is, many of us compromise our entertainment, just ignoring the beliefs and passions of those producing music, art or film. It is important to bring your “faith” into your view of entertainment and what the author believes will come through in his / her chosen medium.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
